Cover Photo: October is the month of the Jidai Matsuri Festival, or “Festival of Ages,” one of Kyoto’s three biggest festivals. It takes place on October 22nd every year which is the anniversary of the foundation of Kyoto as the national capital. It is a colorful, exotic costume celebration dedicated to the Old Capital’s 1,200-year history.
